Centre of Excellence in Architectural Technology (CEAT)

CEAT acts as a mutual bond associating university, industry and society.
The rapid advancements in science and technology in different fields is the inevitable reason for "the urge for continuous education". The Centre of Excellence in Architectural Technology, which works as a mutual bond between university, industry and society, has been founded by understanding the responsibility of the academic community to meet the needs of the society through the continuous acquisition of new sciences and technologies and developing qualitative and quantitative programs in both the education and practice of architecture and construction.

In 2005, the Council of Centres of Excellence in The Ministry of Science, Researches and Technology, granted CEAT to operate within the University of Tehran. This achievement was due to the distinguished academic members, capabilities and rankings of this centre of excellence in both national and international scenes. Thus, CEAT has been in operation since 2005 with Dr. Hamed Mazaherian as its chief director.

The main purpose for establishing the Centre of Excellence in Architectural Technology in the School of Architecture (University of Tehran) is to achieve educational and research goals in the field of architecture and sciences through the organized production of knowledge categorized in four sections: creating infrastructures, educational goals, research objectives and the publication of concepts and theories.
On 8/16/2011 and during the overview of documents, records and achievements of universities and scientific centres, the operation of CEAT in the art and design category became re-validated, meaning that CEAT will go on to continue its activity for a second five-year term. Today, the Centre of Excellence in Architectural of Technology of the University of Tehran is the only centre of excellence in the field of architecture in Iran.
